Best Free NBA DFS Lineup Optimizers in 2026
Three NBA DFS lineup optimizers build a DraftKings lineup without payment: RotoWire, DailyFantasyFuel and BankrollSZN. They are ranked below by how fast you can start. Every other well known NBA optimizer charges before it builds a lineup, so those tools are in a separate table underneath. RotoWire works with no account and exports a CSV. DailyFantasyFuel is free for one lineup at a time and charges for more. BankrollSZN needs a free account and gives you multiple lineups, contest presets and late swap at no cost. Prices checked November 2026.

What free means for an NBA optimizer
The word free covers three different things. No account means you open the page and build, which is how RotoWire's DraftKings NBA optimizer worked when we checked in November 2026. A free account means you register with an email and pay nothing, which is BankrollSZN. A free tier with a cap means part of the tool is free and the rest is paid, which is DailyFantasyFuel: one lineup is free, and up to 150 lineups is premium.
The test for the first table is simple. Can you build a full DraftKings NBA lineup on a normal weeknight without a card? RotoWire, DailyFantasyFuel and BankrollSZN pass. FantasyPros, LineStar, SaberSim and Stokastic do not, so they are in the second table.
Minutes decide the projection, not the solver
Every optimizer solves the same problem: the most projected points under the salary cap and the roster slots. That part is a commodity. In NBA, the projection is mostly a minutes forecast, because per minute production is stable and minutes change every night.
So judge the projection before the optimizer. Check that the site updates minutes after injury news, and that a late scratch moves the backup up. A projection that does not move after news is not maintained, and no solver can fix that.
When paying is worth it
Volume decides it, not skill. A player who enters one to three lineups a night gets little from a $97 a month tool, because that price buys exposure management across a large lineup pool.
A player who enters 150 lineups into a large tournament is different. Exposure caps, uniqueness rules and late swap at scale are the whole job at that volume. That is where SaberSim and Stokastic earn their price. For the middle ground, the cheapest paid optimizer is FantasyPros at $8.99 a month billed annually.
Where BankrollSZN fits
The BankrollSZN NBA optimizer is free with a free account and works for DraftKings and FanDuel. It uses a branch and bound solve, so the lineup it returns is the highest projected lineup under your rules. Ask for more lineups and it solves again for each one with a diversity penalty, so the rosters are different.
Presets cover single entry, 3-max, 20-max and 150-max contests. A Late Swap tab reads your DraftKings entries file, keeps started players locked and replaces players who are out. Export is a CSV in DraftKings upload format. Minutes come from the same engine that feeds the NBA projections and the rotations tracker.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a completely free NBA DFS lineup optimizer?
Yes. RotoWire's DraftKings NBA optimizer built lineups and offered a CSV download with no account when we checked in November 2026. DailyFantasyFuel builds one lineup at a time for free. BankrollSZN is free with a free account and has no entry cap on the base optimizer.
Does the free DailyFantasyFuel optimizer build multiple lineups?
No. The free version builds one lineup at a time. DailyFantasyFuel Premium builds up to 150 lineups and costs $29.99 a month or $134.99 for six months, with a 7 day free trial.
Which free NBA optimizer has late swap?
BankrollSZN includes late swap on its free account. Upload your DraftKings entries file, and the tool keeps started players locked and replaces players who are out.
Is SaberSim worth $97 a month for NBA?
It depends on volume. Its value is managing large lineup pools and exposure. If you enter fewer than about 20 lineups a night, you pay for tools you will not use.
Why are paid tools on a page about free optimizers?
So you can see what the upgrade costs before you decide you need one. The first table is the three optimizers you can use without payment. The second table lists what the paid tools charge, cheapest first. The tables are separate so a subscription price never sits inside the free ranking.
Do free NBA optimizers use worse projections?
Not always. The solver is a commodity, and the quality difference is in the projection. In NBA that means the minutes forecast, so check how fast each site reacts to injury news.
