Odds comparison across MLB, NFL and NHL

One tool for all three sports. Switch between MLB, NFL and NHL at the top of the page to see every game on the board with odds from DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars side by side, the best available number highlighted, the no-vig fair price and the hold computed from the books at the consensus line.

Line shopping is the cheapest edge available. Books do not post identical numbers, and taking the worse side of that gap costs you roughly two percent of your stake on every bet. Over a season that is larger than most people's entire edge, and shopping only changes the price you pay, not whether your bet wins.

How the consensus line, no-vig fair price and hold work

For each side we find the consensus line, which is the spread, run line, puck line or total posted by the most books. We convert each book's American odds at that line to an implied probability, average them, and normalise the two sides so they sum to 100 percent. The result is the no-vig fair price, which is what the market thinks the true probability is once the vig is removed.

The edge percentage in the Best column is the gap between that fair price and the best available price at the consensus line. A book on a different line still shows in its column with an amber asterisk, but it never counts as best or worst and never feeds the fair value or the hold. The hold is the combined margin of the best price on each side, and lower is better for you.

Periods: first 5 innings, 1st inning, 1st half, 1st quarter, 1st period

MLB covers full game, first 5 innings and 1st inning. First 5 innings lines isolate the starters and remove the bullpen, which is useful when you have a strong opinion on the starters but not the relievers. The 1st inning total is always 0.5 and is labelled YRFI for the over and NRFI for the under, so you can shop whether a run scores in the first frame across all four books.

NFL covers full game, 1st half and 1st quarter. First half and first quarter lines let you bet the portion of the game you have the strongest read on without exposing yourself to fourth quarter variance, and shopping those lines across books is where the largest gaps tend to sit because they get less attention than the full game market.

NHL covers full game and 1st period. The puck line is almost always 1.5 goals, so the favorite must win by 2 or more and the underdog covers if they win outright or lose by 1. 1st period lines let you bet the opening frame only, and the gaps between books tend to be wider on those derivative markets.

Frequently asked questions

Which sportsbooks are included?

DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars.

Which sports are covered?

MLB, NFL and NHL. Each has its own page, and this page carries all three behind a sport switch.

What is the no-vig fair price?

We take the consensus line, convert each book's odds at that line to an implied probability, average them, and normalise the two sides to remove the vig. The edge is the gap between that fair price and the best available price.

What is the hold?

The combined margin of the best price on each side. Lower is better for you. Under 2 percent is very good, over 5 percent is expensive.

Are periods covered?

Yes. MLB has full game, first 5 innings and 1st inning (YRFI / NRFI). NFL has full game, 1st half and 1st quarter. NHL has full game and 1st period.

Is the odds comparison free?

Yes, the full grid with a free account.
