Games to Target When building your lineups tonight, pace and total are everything. High-scoring environments mean more fantasy points are available and players get more possessions to rack up stats. Here are the games with the best environments for DFS production on this 6-game slate. 1. New York Knicks vs. Utah Jazz | Total: 229.5 | 9:00 PM ET This is the top game of the night and it is not particularly close. The Knicks are projected to hang 121.5 points on their own, and Utah comes in decimated by injuries. With Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr., Walker Kessler, and Jusuf Nurkic all out for the season, the Jazz front court is a shell of itself. New York should run up the score early and often, meaning heavy minutes for Knicks starters and a plentiful fantasy environment. Both teams play at an up-tempo pace, and the Jazz have been giving up corner threes at a historically bad rate over the last six games while packing the paint. Expect Knicks players to feast on open looks. This game should be your starting point when constructing any lineup tonight. 2. Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic | Total: 226.5 | 7:30 PM ET This is a compelling early slate game with a solid combined total. Houston is on a back-to-back, which tempers some enthusiasm, but the pace and total here is elite. Jokic averaged 33/11/8 in 37 minutes in his last two games against the Rockets. If you are looking for a ceiling game on this slate, DEN/HOU is your best shot. Games to Fade The Charlotte Hornets at Sacramento Kings matchup (10:00 PM ET) has the lowest total and both teams are on back-to-backs, meaning star players could see reduced minutes or even sit out entirely. Unless there is a significant injury shakeup, this game should largely be avoided in cash lineups. Injuries to Watch The injury report is loaded tonight. Several key players are listed out and a handful of questionable designations could reshape the value landscape before lock. Here is everything you need to know. OUT - Significant Absences Jarrett Allen (CLE) - Out, Right Knee Tendonitis Allen will not suit up tonight, and his absence is significant for both Cleveland's interior defense and for fantasy purposes. With Allen off the floor, look for Thomas Bryant to absorb starting center minutes. Bryant has shown he can stuff the stat sheet when given extended run. Evan Mobley should also see slightly increased usage near the basket, and Kenny Atkinson has talked about getting him more involved in the paint recently. Franz Wagner (ORL) - Out, High Left Ankle Sprain (3+ Weeks) Wagner is done for the foreseeable future, and his absence reshapes Orlando's wing rotation. Anthony Black (ORL) - Out, Low Back Strain Black's absence opens up guard minutes in Orlando's backcourt. Jevon Carter is the direct beneficiary at backup guard and should see an elevated role. Jalen Suggs as the starter also benefits from a lighter defensive workload tonight. Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr., Walker Kessler, Jusuf Nurkic (UTA) - All Out Utah is playing shorthanded across their entire frontcourt. Kyle Filipowski is the primary center and will handle heavy minutes. Ace Bailey should continue to play expanded minutes at the forward position. With Keyonte George questionable and John Konchar also questionable, Utah could be down multiple rotation players tonight. Domantas Sabonis, Keegan Murray, De'Andre Hunter, Zach LaVine (SAC) - All Out The Kings are dramatically depleted. Maxime Raynaud is the starting center by default and will see all the minutes he can handle. Precious Achiuwa leads the frontcourt depth. Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan will carry the offensive load with little help around them. Malik Monk is questionable, and if he sits, Devin Carter and Nique Clifford should benefit from additional usage. Miles McBride (NYK) - Out, Hernia Surgery McBride's absence tightens the Knicks' guard rotation. Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart should benefit from his absence, with Hart already projected as the highest-owned player on the slate. Landry Shamet could also see expanded minutes off the bench. QUESTIONABLE - Monitor Before Lock Josh Hart (NYK) - Questionable, Left Knee Soreness Hart's status is the most important questionable to track tonight. If he is out, his minutes and usage would shift to Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby on the wings. Hart is already the most projected-owned player on the slate and his absence would create significant lineup construction pivots. Keyonte George (UTA) - Questionable, Illness George actually played through an illness earlier this year and has a favorable matchup against the Knicks who play drop coverage. He is a drop-coverage killer. If George is ruled out, Isaiah Collier steps in and would be a strong GPP pivot at his salary given the usage floor he would inherit. Jakob Poeltl (TOR) - Questionable, Illness Poeltl missed the previous game due to illness and carries a Q designation tonight. If he is cleared, he should have a solid matchup against New Orleans. If he sits, Sandro Mamukelashvili would absorb starting minutes. Given New Orleans' weak rim protection, whoever starts at center for Toronto should have production upside. Malik Monk (SAC) - Questionable, Right Ankle Monk's absence would further thin out Sacramento's backcourt. If he sits, Devin Carter and Killian Hayes would see expanded roles. Given the matchup against Charlotte is a good one for guards, monitor this closely before lock. Players to Target The value column in tonight's projections tells an interesting story. With so many injured players reshaping rotations, there is real opportunity to get production at a discount. Here is who stands out on both sides of the ownership spectrum. Cash Game Plays These are players with strong projected scores relative to salary and high projected ownership. In cash games, you want players who are likely to hit their floor, and these names do exactly that. Chalk is chalk for a reason. Nikola Jokic, C, DEN vs. HOU | $12,100 Jokic is the best player on the slate and plays in the highest-total game. He averaged 33/11/8 in his last two meetings against Houston, and the Rockets have not been cross-matching to take him away. Denver needs this game in the standings and will ride Joker all night. His ceiling is sky-high and his floor might be even higher. He is the safest cash game anchor on the board tonight regardless of salary. Trey Murphy III, PG/SG, NOP vs. TOR | $7,600 Murphy is one of the best values on tonight's slate. He projects well relative to his salary and carries strong ownership, which tells you the market agrees. The Raptors lack wing defenders and Murphy gets to operate freely off ball. His dual eligibility at PG and SG gives you roster flexibility, which is a nice bonus in cash. If you are looking for a mid-range value to help you afford Jokic, Murphy is your guy. Jakob Poeltl, C, TOR vs. NOP | $5,500 Assuming Poeltl suits up after his illness, his value is outstanding at this salary. New Orleans has struggled with rim defense lately, and the Raptors are one of the best transition teams in the NBA. Poeltl benefits from all of that even without touching the ball much. His ownership projection is already high, but that is warranted. Confirm his status before lock but he is a strong cash game selection if active. Josh Hart, SG/SF, NYK vs. UTA | $6,100 Hart is the highest projected-owned player on the slate and there is a very good reason for that. His salary is a bargain for what he delivers on a nightly basis, and the Jazz are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. He grabs every rebound in sight and competes at a level that consistently shows up in the stat sheet. Even with his knee tag, Hart is expected to play. Lock him in for cash games. RJ Barrett, SF, TOR vs. NOP | $6,800 Barrett gets an excellent matchup against New Orleans, who struggle in transition and have weak rim protection. His role with Toronto has been full, and he plays best when he can attack the basket and push in transition. The Pelicans have limited options to slow him down. He is a reliable cash game option at his salary with real upside if the Raptors get it going. Darius Garland, PG, LAC vs. MIN | $6,200 Garland is working back into form after getting up to 30 minutes in his last game. The Timberwolves play drop coverage which creates driving lanes for him, and Kawhi next to him means defenders cannot key in on Garland alone. At his salary, the value is real. High ownership projection makes sense here for cash. GPP Tournament Plays These are players with lower projected ownership but real ceiling upside relative to their salary. In tournaments, you need differentiation and pop. These names give you both. Fading chalk is a risk, but the right low-owned player can win you a tournament. Jevon Carter, PG/SG, ORL vs. CLE | $3,500 Carter is a sneaky GPP dart with Anthony Black out and Orlando's guard rotation thinned. He plays in a solid total environment and his salary is dirt cheap. His ceiling is a stat-stuffing performance in the 25-27 FPTS range, and at sub-$3,600 with low projected ownership, he is the exact kind of player who can differentiate your GPP lineup. The dual positional eligibility adds flexibility. Christian Braun, SG, DEN vs. HOU | $5,000 Braun is buried in projected ownership despite playing in the highest-total game on the board. He will play significant minutes tonight, and in a game where Denver is expected to score over 118 points, role players rack up fantasy production. His salary is low enough that the upside here is real. At 14.9% ownership he will not be everywhere, making him a great tournament differentiator alongside Jokic. Dejounte Murray, PG, NOP vs. TOR | $6,900 Murray is the kind of player who gets overlooked in tournaments when bigger names are available. But his usage and role have been strong lately, leading the Pelicans in touch time over the last two games with 11.5 drives per game. The Raptors do not have great options to contain him, and he is operating around 30 minutes. At roughly 10% projected ownership, he gives you real production in a good environment without the chalk exposure. Tristan da Silva, SF/PF, ORL vs. CLE | $4,400 Da Silva is a sneaky play with Franz Wagner out. He should absorb wing minutes for Orlando in a solid matchup, and his salary is low enough that any significant stat line would be outstanding value. He is a true GPP-only play with real variance, but that is exactly what you want in large-field tournaments. His 23.6% projected ownership is deceptively high for a GPP play, so monitor that before going heavy, but his ceiling justifies it. Amen Thompson, PG, HOU vs. DEN | $8,000 Thompson has been on an absolute heater in March, averaging 22/8/6 in his first five March games. He gets back to the basket constantly, and Denver does not have the personnel to guard him. He is on a back-to-back which is probably why his ownership is lower than it should be. If you believe Thompson plays his normal workload, this is a tournament winning performance waiting to happen. His B2B discount makes him one of the most interesting GPP builds on the slate. Desmond Bane, SG/SF, ORL vs. CLE | $7,600 With Franz Wagner out, Bane becomes the focal point of Orlando's offense. He has posted a 70.1 true shooting percentage in his last 10 post-break games and is playing heavy minutes. His projected ownership of 13.6% feels low given Wagner's confirmed absence. This is one of the cleanest injury-related GPP plays on the slate. Tournament lineups that can roster Bane at this salary with this elevated role are in great shape. Final Thoughts Tonight is a slate defined by injury carnage and clear value opportunities. The Knicks/Jazz game should produce massive fantasy numbers from the New York side, and the Nuggets/Rockets total gives us the best ceiling environment. Jokic is the anchor for cash, and Murphy and Hart round out the core value. In GPP, target the injury replacements: Carter in Orlando, Braun in Denver, and Bane with the elevated role.
