Games to Target
1. Miami at Washington | Total: 244.5 | Miami -16.5 | 6:00 PM ET (B2B)
Both Miami and Washington played Thursday, and yet this game carries the highest total on the nine-game main slate. The Heat are massive favorites with an implied score north of 130, and Washington is shorthanded with Jaden Hardy and Bilal Coulibaly both ruled out for tonight. That backcourt void is real and it concentrates usage on whatever Washington has left available. Julian Reese is the primary beneficiary and is projecting as one of the two or three best values on the entire board. Miami's side is straightforward: Bam Adebayo runs the offense in a game where scoring is essentially guaranteed, and the supporting cast fills in around him in a blowout-friendly game script.
2. Orlando at Chicago | Total: 243.5 | Orlando -15.5 | 7:00 PM ET (B2B)
Chicago is playing on zero rest after traveling Thursday, and two of their rotation players are unavailable tonight. Isaac Okoro is out with a quad injury and Guerschon Yabusele, who left Thursday's game in the first half with a left shoulder sprain, is expected to be unavailable as well. Orlando arrives as a massive road favorite into a Chicago team that simply does not have enough bodies to compete at full speed. Paolo Banchero is the premium option on the Orlando side and draws a depleted, fatigued defense. Tre Jones inherits a massive role for Chicago and is broadly rostered as a result. This game environment is the second-best on the slate and has volume plays on both sides.
3. Dallas at San Antonio | Total: 236.5 | San Antonio -18.5 | 7:00 PM ET
San Antonio is a massive home favorite against a Dallas team in full rebuild mode. The Spurs have the highest implied score in the TARGET tier, and this game is worth monitoring closely given two injury uncertainties at the top. Victor Wembanyama is listed as questionable with a rib issue, and Stephon Castle is also questionable with a foot problem. If either misses, the usage distribution in San Antonio's offense shifts considerably and opens opportunity further down the depth chart. Cooper Flagg is listed as probable for Dallas after dealing with a wrist sprain and remains a high-ceiling GPP option at zero expected ownership in a game the field is largely fading.
Games to Fade: Brooklyn at Milwaukee (217.5) is the lowest total on the board and the one to avoid for stacking purposes. Brooklyn is playing on a back-to-back after hosting Indiana on Thursday, and their roster is already thin with multiple players unavailable. While a few minimum-priced BKN contributors will see inflated minutes by default, the game script in a low-total, likely lopsided Milwaukee game closes out quickly. Toronto at New York (218.5) is also a back-to-back for both teams and sits at the second-lowest total on the slate, making it a secondary fade.
Injuries to Watch
OUT Tonight
Jaylen Brown (BOS) - Out, Achilles
Brown was ruled out for Thursday's Boston game and his status carries into tonight's home matchup against New Orleans. With Brown sidelined, Derrick White takes on a larger offensive role alongside Payton Pritchard, who has played well in the starting lineup. Both White and Pritchard see their usage floors rise meaningfully in his absence. Boston is a large home favorite against a New Orleans team that is also dealing with some uncertainty, but the game total of 223.5 keeps the ceiling modest.
Jaden Hardy + Bilal Coulibaly (WAS) - Out, Back / Heel
Washington's backcourt is significantly depleted with both Hardy and Coulibaly unavailable. In a game where Miami implies over 130 points and Washington will be pressed to keep pace, the minutes vacuum created by these absences flows to Will Riley, Bub Carrington, and Jamir Watkins. Julian Reese had already been the primary Washington DFS option before these designations, and the backcourt losses lock in his role as the highest-floor WAS piece on the board.
Guerschon Yabusele (CHI) - Out, Left Shoulder
Yabusele exited Chicago's Thursday road game in the first half and is not expected to be available tonight against Orlando. He had been contributing across multiple categories for the Bulls, and his absence alongside Isaac Okoro's quad injury leaves Chicago's frontline extremely thin on a back-to-back. Patrick Williams absorbs a larger role, and the overall usage concentration on Chicago's remaining rotation players rises across the board.
Kobe Brown (IND) - Out, Back
Brown was ruled out for Indiana's Thursday game and is not expected back tonight against Philadelphia. His absence opens minutes in Indiana's frontcourt rotation. Jalen Slawson is the primary beneficiary in a game where Philadelphia implies over 120 points, making Indiana's pace of play favorable. Micah Potter and Obi Toppin also see slight usage bumps in Brown's absence.
QUESTIONABLE - Monitor Before Lock
Victor Wembanyama (SAS) - Questionable, Ribs
This is the most important watch of the night for the 7:00 PM ET lock. Wembanyama has been managing a rib injury and carries a questionable tag into tonight's home game against Dallas. If he sits, San Antonio's offense flows through DeAaron Fox as the primary creator and the role players behind him see significant usage gains. If he plays, he is a massive ceiling option in a game where SAS implies well over 120 points. Do not lock a final roster without confirmation on this one.
Stephon Castle (SAS) - Questionable, Foot
Castle is also questionable for tonight's game, and the potential combination of both Castle and Wembanyama being unavailable would reshape the Spurs' lineup entirely. If Castle sits, expect Fox to log heavy minutes as the primary ball-handler. Monitor San Antonio's injury report in the hour before lock.
Cooper Flagg (DAL) - Probable, Wrist
Flagg is listed as probable with a left wrist sprain and is expected to play tonight. The field is essentially ignoring his probable tag and his projected ownership is near zero. In a game where Dallas is a massive underdog on the road, Flagg is the entire offense and absorbs every usage opportunity the Mavericks generate. His ceiling in this spot is the highest GPP upside play on the slate if you are willing to roster a Dallas player in a blowout-risk game.
Kevin Huerter (DET) - Questionable, Illness
Huerter is questionable for Detroit's game at Charlotte. If he sits, the minutes flow to the available Pistons wings in a 225.5-total game. Charlotte is a moderate home favorite and this matchup is a MONITOR tier game, but injury-driven usage shifts here create opportunity at the cheaper price points.
Players to Target
Cash Game Plays
Tyrese Maxey, PG, PHI at IND | $9,500
Maxey is the strongest projection-to-salary play among the elite options on the slate. Philadelphia is one of the highest-implied teams on the nine-game board and Maxey runs the offense at pace with consistent contributions across scoring, assists, and ball-handling. His floor is elite and his ceiling connects to the top of the board in a game where PHI needs to keep moving the ball against a capable Indiana defense. Broadly rostered in cash and worth every dollar.
Bam Adebayo, C, MIA at WAS | $9,300
Miami implies over 130 points tonight against a shorthanded Washington team, and Adebayo is the hub of the Heat offense in this blowout-friendly spot. He contributes across points, rebounds, and assists regardless of game script, and his floor does not require a competitive game to be useful. The field agrees on his safety here, and the broad ownership reflects how locked-in this play is for cash construction.
Julian Reese, C, WAS vs MIA | $6,000
Reese is the most compelling mid-range play on the slate. Washington loses both Hardy and Coulibaly from their backcourt, their game total is 244.5, and Reese is the primary beneficiary of a massive minutes and usage boost in a spot where WAS needs someone to produce volume. His salary has not caught up to the opportunity and the field is pricing him as near-chalk because the setup is that obvious. Lock him into cash lineups.
Jalen Slawson, SF, IND vs PHI | $4,400
Slawson is operating at minimum-adjacent pricing in a game where Indiana benefits from Kobe Brown's absence pushing usage down the depth chart. He has contributed across multiple stat categories consistently in the Pacers' rotation and his value relative to projection is among the best in the forward slot tonight. His ownership is in a range that makes him viable in both cash and GPP without being punishing in either format.
Paul George, SF/PF, PHI at IND | $8,300
George pairs naturally with Maxey for a PHI stack in a game with one of the highest implied totals on the nine-game slate. He remains a primary option in Philadelphia's offense and his combination of scoring, playmaking, and defensive stats produces well across salary ranges. Broadly rostered alongside Maxey, and at $8,300 his salary gives him room to outperform even in a moderate performance night.
Malachi Smith, PG/SG, BKN at MIL | $4,200
The BKN/MIL game total of 217.5 is the lowest on the slate, but Smith's situation is driven entirely by opportunity rather than game environment. Brooklyn is thin after multiple roster absences and Smith is being handed significant minutes by default. His projection at minimum-adjacent salary produces strong value and the field is pricing him as chalk because the guaranteed volume is real. His floor is supported entirely by role and usage, not game script.
GPP Plays
Jalen Johnson, PF, ATL vs CLE | $10,500
Johnson is the top-priced option on the Atlanta side of a 232.5-total game where ATL enters as a home favorite. His ceiling is as high as any player on the slate, and the field is largely avoiding this salary tier given the depth of options below him. That reluctance shows up in near-zero projected ownership, which makes him the highest-upside differentiator in the premium price range. When Johnson is locked in, he can approach 70 fantasy points and single-handedly separate your lineup in a large field. Stack him with Okongwu.
Derik Queen, PF/C, NOP at BOS | $6,100
Queen is projecting with essentially zero expected ownership despite a workable role for New Orleans. Boston is playing on a back-to-back with Jaylen Brown ruled out, which changes the defensive look against the paint. Queen has played in a consistent role for NOP all season and his ceiling at $6,100 is strong relative to his salary. The game total of 223.5 is lower, but Queen's value comes from usage and matchup rather than from a high-total environment.
Onyeka Okongwu, C, ATL vs CLE | $6,400
Okongwu at near-zero expected ownership in a 232.5-total game where Atlanta implies around 120 points is one of the better GPP values on the board. He contributes across points, rebounds, and blocks in a role that has been consistent all season and his salary is not pricing in his actual upside. The ATL/CLE game is one of the three best on the slate by total and the field is not rostering Atlanta heavily, which creates real differentiation. Pair him with Jalen Johnson for an ATL stack that can win a tournament.
Cooper Flagg, PG, DAL at SAS | $9,700
Flagg is listed as probable and the field is essentially ignoring his $9,700 price tag with near-zero projected ownership. Dallas is a massive underdog on the road and Flagg is the Mavericks' entire offensive operation when healthy. His usage ceiling in a game where Dallas needs to score 100-plus points to stay competitive is genuinely elite, and his salary has not caught up to what he is doing for this team. If Wembanyama also sits for San Antonio, Flagg's path to a 60-point game opens further. He is the highest-leverage single name on the full nine-game slate for GPP.
Jeremiah Fears, PG/SG, NOP at BOS | $7,100
Fears has been one of the more interesting emerging players for New Orleans down the stretch and tonight draws a Boston team playing on a back-to-back without Jaylen Brown. NOP has limited options from a roster depth perspective and Fears absorbs a larger share of creation and shot attempts than his salary reflects. His projected ownership is near zero and his ceiling in this spot is high enough to separate a GPP lineup from the field. He is the most interesting NOP option beyond the established names.
James Harden, PG, CLE at ATL | $8,600
Harden is being almost entirely ignored by the field in a game with one of the better totals on the slate. Cleveland implies over 110 points at Atlanta, and Harden is the primary ball-handler and creator for the Cavaliers on the road. His usage, assist opportunities, and scoring load in a game where CLE needs his playmaking are all pointing to a solid fantasy output, and the near-zero expected ownership makes him a genuine differentiator at this price. In a slate where the top names are broadly rostered, Harden is one of the few $8,000-plus options who can deliver leverage.
Final Thoughts
The nine-game main slate is anchored by two genuinely elite game environments. MIA/WAS and ORL/CHI are the games to build around in cash, and both come with clear injury-driven narrative. Washington is shorthanded, Chicago is on a back-to-back with two players unavailable, and both situations push usage to specific, identifiable options. Julian Reese is the most important player on the board for cash and should be locked in regardless of format.
The most critical injury watch before lock is Victor Wembanyama's status in San Antonio. He is questionable with ribs for a 7:00 PM ET game, which means the news will likely break in the 5:00 to 6:30 PM range. If he sits, the SAS stack becomes a different calculation and Cooper Flagg becomes even more interesting as a contra-play for GPP. Build a contingency lineup now and be ready to swap on confirmation.
For GPP construction, the ATL pairing of Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu is the highest-upside two-man combination on the slate at near-zero combined ownership. Both play in a 232.5-total game where Atlanta has the home edge, and the field is almost entirely ignoring them in favor of the more obvious MIA and PHI stacks. If you want to separate in a large-field tournament, Atlanta is the place to do it.
Cooper Flagg is the ultimate GPP swing play. Probable, near-zero ownership, $9,700, and the only offensive option Dallas trusts in a game where they need to score. His ceiling if he is right is 60-plus fantasy points. The field fading him creates the edge you need. Pair him with a SAS piece only if Wembanyama and Castle are both ruled out.
Keep an eye on the Stephon Castle designation as well. Two SAS players questionable for the same game creates a lot of lineup construction uncertainty on that side. Check all designations before lock and good luck tonight.
