Games to Target

1. New Orleans at Portland | Total: 233.5 | Portland -6.5 | 10:00 PM ET

Portland hosts New Orleans in the slate's premier matchup, and the game is built for DFS production. The Trail Blazers enter shorthanded - Lillard, Sharpe, and Jerami Grant are all out - yet implied totals remain elite, telling you the market expects Portland's remaining weapons to deliver. Deni Avdija runs the offense as the lead option with no real competition for touches, and his projection in this spot reflects exactly that. New Orleans brings real ceiling in Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray in a game that lacks the defensive stoppers to slow either team down. The NOP/POR stack is the clearest path to winning a GPP tonight.

2. Los Angeles Lakers at Oklahoma City | Total: 231.5 | OKC -9 | 9:30 PM ET

Oklahoma City is a nine-point home favorite, one of the steepest spreads on the card, yet the total still checks in at 231.5. Both teams are implied to score over 110. Luka Doncic is the primary story here - he carries the highest projection of any player on the slate but his massive salary keeps field ownership surprisingly light. SGA leads an OKC attack that does not slow down at home. Marcus Smart is out for LA (ankle), opening additional playmaking duties for Austin Reaves and creating a cheap path to exposure in Jake LaRavia. This game can turn into a shootout late if the Lakers find a way to keep pace.

3. San Antonio at LA Clippers | Total: 230.5 | LAC -4 | 10:30 PM ET

Victor Wembanyama and Kawhi Leonard leading their respective squads makes this the most star-studded matchup on the slate. The Clippers are four-point favorites at home, but San Antonio has both Wemby and De'Aaron Fox driving their offense with real two-way upside. Wemby projects as one of the two or three highest-ceiling players on the entire board, and his ownership is almost nowhere to be found at his salary. Stephon Castle is the value-priced secondary who benefits from the attention Wemby draws. Darius Garland and John Collins round out the Clippers' DFS options alongside the irreplaceable Kawhi.

Games to Fade: MIN at DET at 224.5 is the lowest total on the board and warrants the lightest exposure. Detroit is a modest home favorite but with Cade Cunningham out, the offense runs through role players rather than a true lead option. Both teams rank near the bottom of the league in pace. Keep exposure here to a few targeted injury beneficiaries and avoid game stacks entirely.

Injuries to Watch

OUT Tonight

Cade Cunningham (DET) - Out, Chest

Detroit's franchise player is sidelined, leaving Daniss Jenkins as the de facto primary ball handler. Jenkins draws a massive usage spike with Cunningham absent and has shown the ability to put up 35-plus DFS points in full-usage games. Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren also benefit as the primary scoring options in the post and at the elbow. Detroit is a home favorite and the offense will run through whoever has the ball, which means Jenkins is a legitimate featured play.

Isaiah Stewart (DET) - Out, Calf

The second DET big man to be ruled out makes Jalen Duren an unchallenged center in a home matchup Detroit is favored to win. Paul Reed gets backup minutes. With both Cunningham and Stewart out, Duren is looking at 30-plus minutes and an unobstructed path to a ceiling performance. His usage and shot profile improve substantially with the frontcourt cleared out.

Jaden McDaniels (MIN) - Out, Knee

Minnesota's defensive stopper is week-to-week with a patella injury. Donte DiVincenzo and Kyle Anderson absorb the wing minutes. If Anthony Edwards is also ruled out closer to tip, this creates a full reshuffling of MIN's offensive load and turns Julius Randle and DiVincenzo into much more viable targets.

Marcus Smart (LAL) - Out, Ankle

Smart's absence shifts backup point guard duties to Jake LaRavia, who draws additional run in a game where the Lakers need reliable shot creation behind Luka. LaRavia at $4,100 is an intriguing cheap floor-raising option if the Lakers stay in this game into the fourth quarter.

PJ Hall (CHA) - Out, Ankle

Charlotte's backup center rotation is reduced with Hall out. Moussa Diabate gets the bulk of center minutes in a home game against Phoenix. Both Diabate and Ryan Kalkbrenner see modest opportunity uptick. The Hornets are five-and-a-half point home favorites and their implied total is solid at 116.

QUESTIONABLE - Monitor Before Lock

Anthony Edwards (MIN) - Questionable, Knee

This is the most critical injury status on tonight's slate. The projection model has priced Edwards at under one percent ownership, meaning virtually the entire field has already faded him. If Edwards is cleared to play, he is one of the single-best GPP pivot opportunities on the board - star-level ceiling with nearly zero field exposure. Monitor his status right up to the 7:00 PM ET tip and be ready to build around him if he is confirmed active.

Trey Murphy III (NOP) - Questionable, Ankle

Murphy has been in and out of the lineup with ankle issues. If he sits tonight, Herbert Jones and Jeremiah Fears absorb shot attempts in the slate's top game by total. Dejounte Murray's usage climbs further as the primary creator. The NOP stack actually concentrates better from a roster construction standpoint if Murphy is out, as production funnels to fewer options with established roles.

Players to Target

Cash Game Plays

Deni Avdija, SF/PF, POR vs NOP | $8,900

Avdija is the closest thing to a lock in tonight's player pool. With Lillard, Sharpe, and Grant all out, he runs Portland's offense as the lead option. The top game by total, home environment, and full role clarity combine to give him one of the elite projections in the sub-$10,000 range. The field knows this - he is the most broadly rostered player on the slate. He belongs in every cash lineup you build tonight.

Kawhi Leonard, SG/SF, LAC vs SAS | $9,500

Leonard is broadly rostered at his salary range, with the field building around him in the SAS/LAC game. His floor is elite - he operates in a system that maximizes efficiency and the matchup against San Antonio is favorable. At roughly 21% projected ownership, he is not so heavily concentrated that he kills differentiation in GPP. The four-point home spread means LA controls the game flow, which protects his minutes and usage late.

Toumani Camara, SG/SF, POR vs NOP | $5,600

Camara is riding one of the stronger stretches of his career and the Portland injury situation pushes him further into a featured role. He projects broadly rostered here, which tells you the consensus sees what the numbers show - this is a legitimate top-10 play at mid-tier salary. His energy, rebounding, and perimeter shooting translate well against the Pelicans and he fills multiple stat categories in DFS.

Scoot Henderson, PG, POR vs NOP | $5,700

Henderson's salary has not kept pace with his role since the Lillard injury. He handles primary playmaking duties in a game with an over/under over 233. At $5,700, the value is real - he projects well above a dollar-per-point threshold and carries legitimate upside if Portland builds an early lead and pushes pace. Moderately rostered, making him a fine cash anchor from the slate's elite game.

Stephon Castle, SG, SAS at LAC | $7,300

Castle is the underpriced complement to Victor Wembanyama in the Spurs' attack. He handles playmaking responsibilities alongside De'Aaron Fox and generates points, assists, and defensive stats that translate well in DFS scoring. His salary has not fully caught up to his expanded role this season. He is broadly rostered in the cash game community, which confirms the consensus view on his production floor.

Jalen Duren, C, DET vs MIN | $9,000

Two Detroit starters out makes Duren the clear anchor of this lineup. He is untouchable in the frontcourt tonight with Stewart gone, and Cunningham's absence means the offense runs through post-entry and paint touches more often than usual. Detroit is a home favorite in this game. Duren's ceiling sits in the low-50s DFS points and his floor is locked in by the role clarity a lineup like this provides.

GPP Tournament Plays

Luka Doncic, PG, LAL at OKC | $12,200

Luka carries the highest projection on tonight's entire slate and sits at under six percent projected ownership. That combination is rare in GPP formats. The OKC matchup is legitimate competition - the Thunder are nine-point favorites at home - but Doncic generates counting stats regardless of game script. Fading the chalk core and paying up for Luka gives your lineup maximum differentiation. If the Lakers keep it competitive through three quarters, he will be the highest scorer on the board.

Victor Wembanyama, C, SAS at LAC | $11,700

Wemby is at under six percent projected ownership despite projecting nearly as high as Luka and sitting in the slate's third-highest total game. His ceiling involves 20-plus points, 10-plus rebounds, and multiple blocks in a single performance. The fact that the field is not rostering him heavily at this price is genuinely puzzling and represents a real tournament edge. Pairing Wemby with De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle creates a full SAS game stack with a legitimate path to upside.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, PG, OKC vs LAL | $10,400

SGA at under seven percent projected ownership is another high-upside, low-exposure option. He is the reigning league MVP and the engine of the highest-implied-point team on the slate. OKC is implied at 119 tonight. In a game the Thunder are expected to win by nine, SGA could cruise to 50-plus DFS points if the game stays in hand. His salary is steep but the floor is elite for what he costs.

Chet Holmgren, PF, OKC vs LAL | $7,800

Only 1.4% of GPP lineups will have Holmgren tonight. That number is too low for a player in OKC's starting lineup at home against the Lakers. His projection lands in the mid-30s DFS points with a ceiling in the low-40s. He brings points, rebounds, and blocks with near-zero ownership - exactly the profile you want for a tournament differential play. Pairing him with SGA creates an OKC mini-stack with massive ceiling at a combined cost that saves salary flexibility elsewhere.

Anthony Edwards, SG, MIN at DET | $9,300

Edwards is listed at under one percent projected ownership because he is questionable, meaning the projection model has essentially removed him from most lineups. Check status before lock. If he plays, you have a star-level player with under one percent ownership in GPP - that is as good as it gets for tournament construction. The MIN/DET game has a lower total but Edwards's individual ceiling is independent of game pace. A healthy Edwards changes everything for this entry.

Daniss Jenkins, PG, DET vs MIN | $7,000

With Cade Cunningham out, Jenkins is the starting point guard for a Detroit team that is a home favorite. His role is unambiguous - he gets the ball and creates. His projection lands in the low-to-mid 30s DFS points and at around 14 percent projected ownership he is not yet oversaturated. The case for using him in cash is also real - a defined usage role, home game, and manageable salary for the production level he generates.

Final Thoughts

The cash game core tonight writes itself from the top of the board: Avdija as the lead anchor at $8,900, paired with Camara or Henderson from the same NOP/POR game. Add Kawhi Leonard as the SAS/LAC anchor and fill around Castle, Duren, or Jenkins for salary-efficient production. That group gives you exposure to the three highest-total games with injury-cleared role certainty and no meaningful roster risk before lock.

The biggest situational news on the slate is the Golden State injury situation. Multiple Warriors were listed out or questionable for Wednesday's game and their Thursday status needs confirmation before lock. If Kristaps Porzingis, De'Anthony Melton, and Gary Payton II remain out, the Warriors are severely shorthanded against a Cleveland team that is 10-point road favorites. Draymond Green and Brandin Podziemski become viable GPP options in that scenario. Check the injury wire right up to the 10:00 PM ET tip for both the Warriors and Pelicans games.

For GPP pivots, the Luka-Wemby-SGA trio of differentiated stars is the strongest angle on the board. All three project among the five highest on the slate and none of them crack seven percent ownership. Building a lineup around one of those three, filling with the Portland chalk core for floor, and targeting a game stack in either NOP/POR or SAS/LAC gives you the optimal risk-adjusted structure for a six-game Thursday.

The Holmgren angle is worth a look in deeper GPP entries. At 1.4% ownership in OKC's most favorable home game, he is as close to a free leverage play as you will find tonight. Pair him with SGA for the mini-stack, keep the Avdija/Camara core, and use the savings at guard on Scoot Henderson or Stephon Castle.

Check Anthony Edwards status one more time before the 7:00 PM ET tip. A healthy Edwards at under one percent ownership is one of the single-best GPP scores this slate can produce. If he is ruled out before tip, pivot to Julius Randle or Donte DiVincenzo to maintain MIN exposure at better value in a matchup Detroit may not blow open.
