Lineups are locked across all nine games and the ROO model has a clean read on the day. Three game environments stand out: BAL/ATH at Camden Yards with a 10 total, HOU/CIN at Great American with a 9, and the lopsided COL/PHI matchup at Citizens Bank where Philly is implied for 6.12 runs against a soft-contact import on his first trip through this lineup. Wind cooperates in two of those three. There's also one starter sitting on a comically fake ERA in this one, and the Sleeper HR call I love is attached to that exact same pitcher.

Weather to Watch

Colorado Rockies at Philadelphia Phillies | Citizens Bank Park | Sunny, 78F | Wind: 8.4 mph SW

Wind blows out to right field at one of the best HR parks in the league. The model has this game at +19.3% HR impact, which is the cleanest weather edge on the slate.

Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox | Fenway Park | Partly Cloudy, 67F | Wind: 12.8 mph SW

A real wind here, blowing out toward the Pesky Pole. HR impact only marks at +1.9% because Fenway is already a quirky park, but the wind direction helps lefty bats and matters in close cases.

Athletics at Baltimore Orioles | Oriole Park at Camden Yards | Partly Cloudy, 71F | Wind: 9.1 mph WSW

Light boost. Camden plays as a top-five park for righty power and the wind is mostly neutral with a slight push toward right-center. The 10-run total is doing the heavier lifting here, but the park is not actively suppressing anything.

Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins | Progressive Field | Cloudy, 64F | Wind: 7.5 mph N

Wind blowing in from center, cool temps, and the lowest game total on the slate. Suppressive at -8.3% HR impact. This is the only environment I want to actively avoid for power.

The other five games are domes (Rogers Centre, Globe Life, American Family Field) or neutral conditions. Nothing else needs commentary.

HR Calls

I want a balanced 3-pack today. Schwarber as the headline weather play, Alonso in the highest total game on the board, and Contreras as the sleeper attached to the slate's most regression-vulnerable starter.

Kyle Schwarber (PHI) $5,600 vs Tomoyuki Sugano

[STANDARD MODEL]

Schwarber leads the standard model at a 91.9 hr_score and there are layers to it. He posts a 33% HR/FB rate against righties with a 21.3% barrel rate and a 53.9% pull rate, which is exactly the profile that turns Citizens Bank Park's short right field into a giveaway. Sugano runs a 17.5% HR/FB allowed and a 40% fly ball rate, and he is a soft-tossing righty getting his first taste of this park in heavy wind out to right. Schwarber is the chalk and he should be the chalk.

Pete Alonso (BAL) $5,200 vs Luis Severino

[STANDARD MODEL]

The 10-run total at Camden is the highest on the board, and Alonso sits in the four hole with a 134 wRC+ and a .247 ISO against righties this year. Severino has been hittable to RHB lately, walking 14% of them and giving up an .832 OPS in his last 30. Camden's 112 park factor for righty power is right in Alonso's wheelhouse. Pull-side righty power, wind helping, $5,200 in a 10-run game. I like him in cash and as a GPP one-off.

Willson Contreras (BOS) $4,300 vs Nick Martinez

[SLEEPER MODEL]

This is the model's biggest edge of the day. Martinez is sitting on a 1.71 ERA backed by a 4.34 xFIP, a .236 BABIP, and a 90% LOB rate. The peripherals say he is a mid-4s ERA pitcher running on luck, and his K rate of 16.7% gives Boston bats every chance to put balls in play. Contreras has an 18% barrel rate, a .274 xISO, and a 48% pull rate, hitting second behind Duran. Sleeper score of 75 with a 2.63 xFIP gap is the textbook setup. Salary hasn't caught up to the spot yet.

Stacks to Target

Three legitimate stacks today, all driven by their starter matchup. Top to bottom by ROO score.

1. PHI vs Tomoyuki Sugano (R) | Implied Total: 6.12 | ROO Score: 7.1/10

Best stack on the slate by a wide margin. The implied score component maxes at 10, starter vulnerability is 8.4, park-weather is 6.5 with the wind blowing out at Citizens Bank. Sugano is a soft-contact righty: 14.6% K rate, 1.46 HR/9, 41.5% fly ball rate. The angle is straightforward. Philly's lefties run a 119 wRC+ vs RHP with a 15% HR/FB rate, and the top of the order is loaded with that handedness. Schwarber leads the standard HR model on the slate, Harper sits second, and Brandon Marsh and Bryson Stott extend the platoon advantage all the way to the bottom of the order. Even Adolis Garcia in the four hole gets a sneaky pop boost: he hits Sugano's flies harder than the rest of the slate's RHB and the park factor on righty pull power gives him a runway. This will be the highest owned stack on the slate. Build around it, don't avoid it.

Core pieces: Kyle Schwarber (LHB, two hole), Bryce Harper (LHB, three hole), Brandon Marsh (LHB, five hole), Bryson Stott (LHB, six hole), with Adolis Garcia (RHB, four hole) as the leverage piece against ownership.

2. ATH vs Chris Bassitt (R) | Implied Total: 5.08 | ROO Score: 6.8/10

The 10-run game and Bassitt's split data are the entire story here. Bassitt's overall season line is ugly enough at a 5.91 ERA and a 1.91 WHIP, but the platoon split is the part that matters: 8.10 ERA, .458 wOBA, 11.2% K rate, and 15.7% walk rate vs LHH across 89 batters faced. The Athletics roll out a left-leaning top of the order with Nick Kurtz leading off and Tyler Soderstrom in the three hole, both posting a 130-plus wRC+ vs RHP. Shea Langeliers in the two hole is the extra piece that breaks the matchup open: a 167 wRC+ vs RHP with a 28.8% ISO and the slate's third-best standard hr_score. Park-weather is a 7.8 here, second-highest on the board. The starter vulnerability score of 7.6 reflects all of this. Lower owned than Philly because public stacks default to favorites, but the run environment is real.

Core pieces: Nick Kurtz (LHB, leadoff, 161 wRC+ vs RHP), Shea Langeliers (RHB, two hole, the centerpiece bat), Tyler Soderstrom (LHB, three hole, 131 wRC+ vs RHP), Brent Rooker (RHB, four hole) as the lower-owned anchor.

3. HOU vs Andrew Abbott (L) | Implied Total: 4.20 | ROO Score: 6.4/10

The implied total here is the smallest of the three, but the matchup quality and the bullpen score (8.0, slate-best) carry it. Abbott's split data is the angle: 9.00 ERA, .455 wOBA, and a 22% HR/FB rate allowed to LHH across 38 batters. He is also not great vs RHB at a 4.32 ERA and a .326 wOBA. Yordan Alvarez is the centerpiece, plain and simple: a 195 wRC+ vs LHP with a .357 ISO and a 27% HR/FB rate. He is the only LHB in the lineup that punishes lefties at this level, and Abbott has no answer. Christian Walker (122 wRC+ vs LHP) and Isaac Paredes (137 wRC+ vs LHP) anchor the right-handed side. Park weather adds a 7.3 with Great American Ball Park's right field porch in play. The Astros also walk into a vulnerable Reds bullpen if they can knock Abbott out by the fifth.

Core pieces: Yordan Alvarez (LHB, two hole, the must-have), Christian Walker (RHB, four hole), Isaac Paredes (RHB, three hole), Jose Altuve (RHB, leadoff) as a salary saver.

Pitchers

Two clear cash anchors at the top, then a handful of mid-tier value plays where projection upside justifies a smaller spend. Salary range opens up nicely below $8K because of two K-rate breakouts no one is paying full freight for yet.

Cristopher Sánchez (PHI) vs COL | $9,800 | CASH

The cleanest cash play on the board. Sánchez sits on a 2.42 ERA with a 2.39 FIP and a 28.7% K rate across 48.1 IP. He gets the slate's lowest implied team total opponent (Colorado at 2.38) at home in a park his groundball profile (58.6% GB rate) loves. The Rockies travel poorly, the lineup runs a 95 wRC+ vs LHP, and Sánchez has a 4.61 ERA on lefties but a 1.56 ERA on righties this year, which matches up perfectly with COL's mostly right-handed lineup.

Jacob deGrom (TEX) vs CHC | $9,500 | CASH

The dome at Globe Life takes the wind out of the equation, and deGrom's 31.3% K rate plays in any environment. Cubs lineup features two switch hitters and three lefties at the top, which is the side deGrom struggles with most (3.95 ERA vs LHH versus 0.87 vs RHH). That is the only knock. Across 37.2 IP this year he has a 3.10 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP, and Chicago's 4.34 implied total prices him as the second-best K play on the board.

Gavin Williams (CLE) vs MIN | $8,800 | CASH

Underowned by salary. Williams runs a 30.3% K rate across 49.1 IP, his xFIP is 3.25, and he draws Minnesota at a 3.07 implied total in the slate's most pitcher-friendly weather. Park-weather grade for the opposing team is 1.0, which means HR risk is suppressed both ways. K upside plus a quality start probability gets him to a strong cash floor. Drop down here and free up bats.

Davis Martin (CWS) vs SEA | $7,400 | GPP

The mid-tier upside arm. Martin has a 1.64 ERA across 44 IP with a 25.4% K rate and a 4.7% walk rate. The peripherals (2.45 FIP, 3.18 xFIP) say he is a true mid-3s ERA pitcher, which is excellent at this salary. Seattle is league-average vs righties and runs a 4.35 implied total. The slight HR park suppression at Rate Field helps. Boom side: Martin's last 30 days show a 1.36 ERA, a 0.27 HR/9, and a 24.8% K rate. Bust side: he gives up some hard contact at a .419 hard-hit rate and SEA can find barrels.

Payton Tolle (BOS) vs TB | $7,800 | GPP

Tiny sample, big upside. Three starts, 17.2 IP, a 2.04 ERA, a 34.3% K rate, and a 0.74 WHIP. Tampa Bay runs a 3.64 implied total, the third-lowest on the slate. The Fenway wind blowing out is the only red flag and the LH-heavy Rays lineup tilts the matchup his way (Tolle is left-handed). The salary leaves room to pay up at the stack spots, and a ten-K outing vaults him into GPP-winning territory.

Pitcher Regression to Watch

We are deep enough into the season that 30-plus IP samples are real signal. Two starters today are sitting on fake numbers, both going the wrong direction for the field.

Nick Martinez (TB) | Negative Regression Candidate

This is the one I want everyone watching. The 1.71 ERA looks elite. The 4.34 xFIP and the 3.44 FIP say he is a mid-4s pitcher who has gotten away with it. The .236 BABIP and the 90.2% LOB rate are the smoking guns: average BABIP is .295 and the league LOB rate is 72%. He is also striking out only 16.7% of hitters faced, which gives the Boston lineup a high rate of balls in play to do damage with. The Fenway wind blowing out raises the variance further. BOS is my favorite stack-against-the-pitcher target on the slate even though they sit fourth in implied total. Contreras is already in the HR call section. Wilyer Abreu (133 wRC+ vs RHP), Trevor Story, and Jarren Duran round out a build that is meaningfully lower owned than the obvious Phillies stack.

Jameson Taillon (CHC) | Negative Regression Candidate

Taillon's 4.24 ERA is bad already. The 6.01 FIP says it should be worse. He is allowing a 2.45 HR/9 with a 51.8% fly ball rate, and the .206 BABIP propping his line up cannot last another start. Texas runs a heavy left-handed top of the order against him, and Taillon's vs LHH split is a 5.30 ERA with a 20.7% HR/FB rate allowed. Globe Life Field's dome neutralizes the wind, but the matchup is still favorable for power. If you want a non-Phillies, non-Athletics game stack, the Rangers four-hole down (Pederson, Burger, Carter) is the spot.

Final Thoughts

Cash game build comes together cleanly. Sánchez or deGrom at SP, a Phillies four-pack from the top of the order, Schwarber as the HR anchor, and Pete Alonso as the salary-friendly four-hole bat in the highest total game. From there it is about which onesie hitter you want to trust at the bottom: Mike Trout in the Rogers Centre dome at $5,600 against a Spencer Miles debut is the contrarian one-off, but Cam Smith and Carlos Cortes do similar work for less.

Lineups are confirmed already, but pay attention to wind speeds at Fenway and Citizens Bank closer to lock. If the Citizens Bank wind clocks above 12 mph out to right, you can move from a four-stack to a five-stack on Philly without flinching. The Camden game is the one weather check I'd actually keep an eye on too: a small wind shift can pull or push that 10-run total in either direction.

GPP pivots: the Athletics stack is the highest leverage play of the day. Bassitt's 8.10 ERA vs LHH is what you want to hunt in tournaments, and the public will default to Philly. Yordan Alvarez at $6,200 is a contrarian way into the slate's best pure platoon spot, and a Tolle plus Martin pitching combo opens up bat salary that almost no one will run. The cleanest GPP construction I can write is Sánchez + Alonso + a four-pack of Athletics: it gets you off the chalk pitcher and the chalk stack while still capturing two of the three best run environments. Build accordingly.
