What the solver actually does

Most free optimizers fill a roster greedily: take the best value player available, subtract his salary, repeat until the roster is full, stop. That produces a good lineup and almost never the best one, because a greedy fill cannot see that skipping a strong value play at one position unlocks two better ones elsewhere.

This runs branch and bound instead, which searches the space of legal rosters and proves the lineup it returns is the highest-projected one available under your constraints. When you ask for 20 or 150 lineups it re-solves for each, applying a diversity penalty so you get genuinely different rosters rather than the same core with one player swapped.

Constraints available: team stacking rules, per-player exposure caps across the full set, locks, excludes, and salary floor. Presets cover single entry, 3-max, 20-max and 150-max, each with stack shapes and exposure defaults tuned for that contest size.

Exposure caps across a large set

Exposure caps limit how many of your lineups can contain a given player. At 150 lineups, leaving exposure uncapped means your best value play appears in nearly all of them and your entire set rises and falls with one performance. Capping him trades a little projected total for a lot less variance across the set.
